"NEW GROUND"
SOLO SHOW CURATED BY ZETASTUDIO
4.30.08
This past April artist Daudi Karungi approached Zeta Studio with a curatorial request. After meeting the Rockefeller Foundation's Board of Trustees in his native Uganda, Mr. Karungi was invited by the Department of Human Resources to introduce his work in what would be his first solo show in the United States.
Prepared and curated by Martha Ruiz-Perilla, twenty-six works including painting and woodcut prints were exhibited at the Susan Eley Gallery on April 30th , 2008. This one night exhibition brought together guests from Christie's, Sotheby's and the Rockefeller Foundation, as well as other art world professionals, journalists, and representatives from the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Uganda to the United Nations.
The exhibition sales reflected the successful effort made by Zeta Studio to introduce the work of Mr. Karungi to this select audience in New York City.
