GEOFF FARNSWORTH (b. 1968)
Born in Vancouver, Geoff Farnsworth lives and works in Toronto. He began his art training in Vancouver at Capilano College, Emily Carr, and the Federation of Canadian Artists. He then went on to the Art Students League of New York from 1997 to 2002. His work has been exhibited in New York, Washington DC, Minneapolis, Vancouver, Toronto, and Stockholm. In his dynamic expressionist style Geoff explores portraiture by using the language of action painting. The vivid color and energetic brushwork act as a catalyst to Geoff's subjects. A meditation on human nature and its continuous transformation is conveyed on these paintings, which manage to merge on the canvas the possible, the fun, the uncanny and the habitual. Geoff became a father on the 4 th of July.
