ERIC KATER (b. 1959)
Eric Kater was born in Buenos Aires, grew up in Amsterdam and Cleveland, and now lives and works in New York. He is a graduate of John Carroll University with a B.A. in English Literature, and the City University of New York with a M.A. in Liberal Studies, where he explored the place of D.H. Lawrence in the history of western metaphysics. Eric attended the Westchester Institute for Psychoanalysis for one year before leaving to pursue creative writing and now photography. Eric's black and white photographs elevate the obvious and bring it to the viewer as an honest commentary on the unique aesthetic qualities of the ephemeral and the unnoticed. Eric has an extensive collection of table lamps, and an adorable dog named Gigi.
